In this project, Sanxing Lighting supplied 693 sets of solar street lights, each equipped with high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar panels encapsulated in low-iron tempered glass and TPT materials. These panels boast high light transmittance, aging resistance, and dust resistance, with a photoelectric conversion efficiency of up to 21%. The energy storage system employs high-performance power lithium batteries, which can operate stably in extreme temperatures ranging from -30℃ to 60℃ and maintain continuous, stable lighting even during prolonged cloudy and rainy periods. Additionally, the solution is equipped with Sanxing Lighting’s independently developed MPPT intelligent controller, which intelligently tracks the maximum power of the solar panels—enhancing charging capacity by 15-20% compared to conventional controllers—and enables intelligent dimming based on traffic flow and light conditions to achieve optimal energy conservation.
Since its commissioning, the project has yielded remarkable economic and environmental benefits. Based on a daily lighting duration of 10 hours, the 693 sets of solar street lights can save approximately 500,000 kWh of electricity and 400,000 yuan in electricity fees annually, while reducing carbon emissions by around 44 tons—equivalent to the carbon sequestration capacity of nearly 1,000 planted trees. Compared with traditional grid-connected street lights, the project has reduced the total cost (including initial investment and 5-year electricity fees) by approximately 50%, significantly alleviating the operational burden on local authorities. Meanwhile, the elimination of cable laying has prevented secondary damage to road surfaces and the surrounding environment, effectively protecting the rural ecological landscape.
To further enhance the management efficiency of the lighting system, Sanxing Lighting also equipped the project with an Internet of Things (IoT) intelligent management platform. Through this platform, the local management department can remotely monitor the operational status of each street light—including power generation, energy storage, and lighting brightness—and implement one-click navigation for fault maintenance, which has substantially reduced maintenance costs and improved fault handling response efficiency. The intelligent control function also enables the street lights to automatically adjust brightness according to the actual requirements of the road, ensuring sufficient lighting for nighttime travel while avoiding unnecessary energy consumption.
The successful implementation of Sanxing Lighting’s solar street lighting solution on Nanhuan Road in Taiqian County has not only addressed the issues of high energy consumption and poor stability associated with traditional rural lighting but also established a model for the promotion of solar lighting technology in rural areas. It has brightened rural roads at night, improved residents’ travel safety, and enriched villagers’ nighttime activities, while also providing strong support for the local development of rural tourism and the night economy, thereby contributing to the integrated development of rural ecology, economy, and society.
