Deliver a keynote speech at the Jiangxi Urban Lighting Development and Technology Exchange Conference & 2024 Annual Member Meeting
With the acceleration of China's urbanization drive, urban lighting, as a vital component of urban infrastructure, has attracted widespread attention for its technological innovation, quality improvement and safe operation. To thoroughly explore the development trends of the lighting industry, further enhance the refined management level of urban lighting, strengthen intra-industry cooperation and exchange, promote technological innovation and industrial upgrading, and jointly explore new paths for lighting development.
On December 18-19, 2024, the Jiangxi Urban Lighting Development and Technology Exchange Conference & 2024 Annual Member Meeting, hosted by the Lighting Industry Branch of Jiangxi Urban Construction and Administration Association with the theme of "New Quality Drives Development • Upgrade Ensures Safety", was grandly held in Ji'an, Jiangxi.
As an integrated solution provider for urban smart lighting, our company focuses on the development of smart, low-carbon new-quality lighting. By integrating AI intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), advanced materials and smart manufacturing processes, we have achieved the latest product innovation results in solar lighting, smart light poles, functional lighting and software platforms, all of which have been successfully put into practical application. We conducted in-depth exchanges and shared insights with the attending leaders of competent authorities, academic societies and industry associations, as well as industry experts and enterprise representatives. These interactions aim to inspire more innovative ideas, deliver more high-quality product solutions, and facilitate the sustainable, steady and innovative development of the lighting industry.
During the conference, our company delivered a keynote speech titled Application of High-Power Solar IoT Street Lights. By combining high-power lighting with solar energy—a clean and zero-carbon energy source—our solution fully meets the lighting requirements of first-class urban roads, expressways and other thoroughfares. Meanwhile, the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as AI and IoT not only achieves significant energy conservation and consumption reduction, but also effectively lowers the investment, construction and operational costs of urban infrastructure.
Recently, the Central Economic Work Conference clarified the key tasks for 2025, namely "promoting carbon reduction, pollution control, greening and growth, and accelerating the comprehensive green transition of economic and social development". The 14th Five-Year Plan also explicitly sets the national goals of reaching the carbon emission peak by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
On the other hand, affected by the global economic downturn, governments are facing fiscal constraints. For urban road lighting, solar lighting boasts the advantage of low comprehensive investment and construction costs. Meanwhile, with the maturity and large-scale application of solar panel and storage battery technologies, its price advantage has become increasingly prominent.
Therefore, our company’s high-power solar IoT street lights can effectively meet the needs of urban road lighting upgrading, as well as low-investment construction and operation requirements, helping to achieve the national "dual carbon" goals. Take the high-power solar IoT street light project on South Ring Road in Taiqian County, Henan Province as an example: a total of 693 sets of our solar street lights were installed, equipped with our self-developed 200W LED glass modules. Calculated based on 10 hours of daily operation, these lights can save approximately 500,000 kWh of electricity and around 400,000 yuan in electricity costs annually, while reducing carbon emissions by more than 400 tons.
In contrast, the installation of grid-connected street lights requires a great deal of civil engineering work, including cable laying, trench excavation, pipe installation, wire threading and backfilling. Moreover, it entails long-term and uninterrupted line inspection and maintenance, coupled with issues such as cable aging, which consume substantial human, material and financial resources. Our solar street lights adopt Cat.1 wireless communication technology and require no wiring, making them far more cost-effective than grid-connected alternatives. According to the calculation of "initial investment + 5-year electricity fees + 5-year maintenance costs", the total cost of solar street lights is only about 50% of that of grid-connected street lights.
This year, our products have delivered outstanding lighting performance and energy-saving results in projects such as the green energy-saving renovation of urban street lights in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, and the energy-saving upgrade and renewal of urban street lights in Dong'e, Shandong, achieving remarkable economic and environmental benefits.
The conventional solar street lights are no longer able to meet the aesthetic and functional demands of modern urban development due to their outdated design. Our integrated solar IoT light poles have broken the design constraints of traditional solar street lights, seamlessly integrating light fixtures, solar panels and storage batteries. Furthermore, they have elevated the utilization efficiency of photovoltaic energy to a higher level.
Going forward, our company will continue to drive the innovation and upgrading of product R&D and design, launch lighting products tailored to diverse needs, further advance smart product technologies and low-carbon energy-saving lighting solutions, create a healthy and intelligent urban lighting environment, enhance user experience, and illuminate a beautiful China with the power of technology.
