To thoroughly explore innovative lighting technologies and designs, propel industrial advancement, inject fresh vitality, build a communication platform, and boost the development of the lighting industry in Shaanxi Province, the Shaanxi Urban Renewal Innovation Technology & Lighting Design Forum, hosted by the Shaanxi Illuminating Engineering Society, was grandly held in Xi'an on December 20, 2024.
As a vital component of current urban development and construction, urban lighting renewal plays a significant role in enhancing urban image, boosting cultural and tourism economic growth, improving residents' living experience, and strengthening road traffic safety. As a comprehensive solution provider for urban smart lighting, our company (Samsung Lighting) integrates new-quality lighting featuring smart low-carbon technology and landscape innovation with urban lighting renewal initiatives. By empowering such projects with AI intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), advanced new materials, and smart manufacturing processes, we effectively meet the specific needs of current urban renewal and achieve tangible results in energy conservation, consumption reduction, and lowering the investment, construction, and operational costs of urban lighting systems.
During the forum, our company engaged in full exchanges and discussions with attending leaders from competent authorities and academic societies, industry experts, and enterprise representatives, and showcased our latest product innovations in solar photovoltaic lighting, smart lamp poles, functional lighting, and software platforms.
In recent years, our company’s products have been applied in a number of key urban lighting projects across Xi’an, Ankang, Yulin, Baoji and Xixian New Area in Shaanxi Province, including Xi’an Olympic Sports Central Ecological Park, Xi’an Xitai Road/Gaoxin Road/Jinye Road, Xi’an North Railway Station, Xi’an Railway Station, Xi’an Aerospace New City, Ankang Ring Road, Ankang Changchun Road, Yulin Convention and Exhibition Center, Baoji Railway Station, Baoji Binhe North Road, Jinghewan Bridge in Xixian New Area and Xitong Expressway Connection Line. We have made significant contributions to advancing urban lighting, boosting cultural and tourism development, promoting smart city construction, and enhancing residents’ living experience in Shaanxi.
This year, our company’s products have also delivered outstanding results in urban lighting renewal projects across other regions. Examples include the innovative green, energy-saving and intelligent renovation of urban street lamps in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, which cuts an average of RMB 1 million in electricity costs and reduces carbon emissions by approximately 2,088 tons annually. By 2025, the energy-saving rate of Baotou’s urban lighting facilities will exceed 50%. Another case is the centralized renovation of urban street lamps in Dong’e, Shandong Province, which saves about 700,000 kWh of electricity, RMB 630,000 in electricity fees, and reduces carbon emissions by around 550 tons each year. Additionally, the solar street lamp project on South Ring Road in Taiqian, Henan Province achieves annual savings of 500,000 kWh of electricity and RMB 400,000 in electricity fees, with a corresponding annual carbon emission reduction of about 440 tons...
