Saussurea involucrata Landscape Lighting Project in Karamay | Led Street Light
Karamay is a crucial national petrochemical base and a key newly industrialized city under construction in Xinjiang. Located on the northwestern edge of the Junggar Basin, it sits at the core of Eurasia — the central area of Pan-Central Asia. As a global cluster for the petrochemical industry, its oil and gas resources account for nearly 80% of the world's total reserves.
It can be said that Karamay is an industrial city built on oilfields. While the petrochemical industry has brought enormous development opportunities to the city, the common problem of heavy industrial cities — extensive urban development — has also hindered Karamay, this major industrial base in northwest China, from advancing toward comprehensive development as an intensive and eco-friendly city.
For over 23 years, Yingbin Avenue was equipped with high-pressure sodium lamps that featured high energy consumption, high maintenance costs and high carbon emissions. These lamps not only caused excessive energy waste, but also suffered from high failure rates and poor lighting availability, posing significant safety hazards to residents’ daily travel.
Sanxing Lighting adopts new high-efficiency LED energy-saving light sources, achieving a power-saving rate of over 50% and a lamp lighting rate above 98%. It firmly strides forward toward China’s key national goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality in environmental protection and energy conservation.
The LED Street Light is equipped with single-lamp controllers and supported by a smart street lamp management platform, realizing integrated equipment services and remote platform control. Customer technical support engineers can remotely log in to the system and conduct equipment diagnosis via the operation and maintenance platform. This cuts labor costs for installation and subsequent maintenance, boosts operational efficiency, and reduces the full life-cycle cost of the luminaires. The system enables brightness adjustment by time periods, which not only fully meets residents' daily travel lighting needs, but also saves energy effectively and further lowers carbon emissions.
Meanwhile, the LED street light is also integrated with smart functions such as an LED high-definition display, panoramic camera, wireless Wi-Fi, and one-touch emergency alarm.
The panoramic camera enables continuous road monitoring with full coverage and no blind spots, helping prevent traffic violations and accidents while enabling efficient and timely incident handling. The LED high-definition display receives real-time traffic data via the cloud platform to broadcast road condition reminders, guide traffic diversion and flow distribution, delivering immediate and remarkable improvements to traffic operation efficiency.
As the main thoroughfare connecting the airport to downtown Karamay, Yingbin Avenue serves as a vital showcase of the city and a key carrier for shaping urban image and presenting the city’s charm to the outside world.

Combining the urban development theme and the unique geographical location of Yingbin Avenue, Sanxing Lighting adopts a bionic design approach for the luminaire appearance. Drawing inspiration from the uniquely charming snow lotus of Xinjiang, the design refines petal lines with modern aesthetic concepts and in-depth creative thinking. The lamp head is delicately crafted with simulated petal textures and decorated in a snow lotus shape, symbolizing peace and prosperity.
On the evening of September 20, 2021, 264 landscape street lights of the Snow Lotus design — "LED Street Light" — were lit up along Yingbin Avenue, shining brightly to interpret the urban glamour of Karamay. The shimmering, radiant lamp shades are just like brilliant pearls atop the Tianshan Mountains, dazzling and magnificent.
