Urban Renewal Case Sharing: Wanxing Road, Dongying, Shandong

Wanxing Road in Dongying, Shandong Province is lined with major urban complexes including commercial plazas, hotels, residential communities and schools, boasting a high volume of pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Its outdated lighting facilities can no longer meet the needs of residents and urban operational functions. Meanwhile, poor road conditions and indiscriminate parking have led to frequent traffic accidents and a severe traffic environment in this area, which has created great nuisances for traffic safety, investment attraction, consumer experience and residential living environments here.
Finding solutions to the aforementioned issues is the key to translating the national urban renewal strategy into concrete local actions and addressing practical problems. In response to the practical challenges faced by Wanxing Road, we fully respect the original spatial texture, explore new spaces, create new scenarios, foster new business formats and inject new elements. We address the overall upgrading challenges through regional optimization, and build a demonstration zone featuring high-quality development, a high-quality living environment and efficient governance.
As an integrated solution provider for urban smart lighting, our company has conducted an in-depth analysis of the project in collaboration with relevant parties, fully explored the cultural concepts and customer demands, and identified the optimization of road lighting and the surrounding environment as the core focus of this renewal project. Following strict reviews of on-site surveys, project discussions, scheme design and other key phases, we finally adopted our new landscape street lamp Clivia as the primary luminaire for the renovation and upgrading of road lighting on Wanxing Road.
The Clivia landscape street lamp draws its creative inspiration from the clivia flower. Adopting a bionic design approach for its arm and head, the lamp integrates the leaf elements of the clivia into its overall structure, endowing the entire luminaire with the distinctive grace and charm of the flower. A square light source is embedded in a rounded lamp head, and the interplay of square and round forms complements the Confucian virtues of a gentleman in perfect harmony. It embodies the urban cultural spirit of self-improvement and perseverance, evokes the shared values between the city and its people, and reinforces the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.
The hollowed-out design of the Clivia lamp head not only reduces the overall weight of the luminaire for a lightweight design, but also endows it with a stronger sense of layering and sophistication. It is an ingenious integration of the intensive concept and industrial design.
Wanxing Road, now illuminated by the Clivia landscape street lamps, not only meets the basic urban lighting requirements, but also injects new elements into the road renewal project. It has improved the road and investment environment, enhanced residents’ travel experience, facilitated the high-quality development of urban renewal and road lighting, and built a benchmark demonstration zone for urban renewal.
