Focus on the Belt and Road · Light Up the Pearl of Eurasia-Astana Zhetisu Park Park Landscape Lighting Project
The protagonist of this case, Zhetisu Park, is located along the banks of the Ishim River, adjacent to well-known landmarks such as the Presidential Palace on the central axis, the Tree of Life and the Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center. Astana’s sophisticated urban planning is attributable to the foresight of President Nazarbayev and the "Architectural Symbiosis" concept proposed by architect Kisho Kurokawa — a philosophy that embraces the symbiosis of history and future, and emphasizes the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, as well as cities and nature. In line with Astana’s distinctive urban planning concept, our team pursued the harmonious integration of lighting fixtures with architecture and nature for the Jetisu Park Landscape Lighting Project. We designed and installed three types of bionic landscape lamps themed after Lotus in Full Bloom, Lily and Sunflower, allowing the fixtures to blend seamlessly into the cityscape and natural environment. This project stands as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of Astana’s establishment as the capital city.
Zhetisu Park is oval-shaped as a whole, with a belt-shaped leisure plaza running through it from north to south at its center. As a major daily leisure destination for citizens with heavy foot traffic, the park required lighting solutions that ensure both optimal illumination and appealing landscape effects. To this end, we specially designed the LED landscape lamp series "Shenglian" (Lotus in Full Bloom). Modeled bionically after the form of a lotus flower, the lamp features a sleek and modern design that pairs perfectly with the petal-shaped special-shaped light sculpture at the southern end of the plaza. Meanwhile, the lotus flower symbolizes peace, prosperity and unity, embodying our wishes for the everlasting peace and friendship between China and Kazakhstan, as well as the prosperity and strength of all countries along the Belt.
The "Baihe" (Lily) landscape courtyard lamp is installed along the bicycle lane on the periphery of the park. Bionically designed based on the shape of a lily flower, it features concise and smooth lines.The lampshade is made of imported PC material, which is high-temperature resistant and anti-aging, and has undergone a special anti-glare treatment. The lamp body is crafted from high-pressure die-cast aluminum, offering excellent impact resistance and a long service life. The lamp pole is coated with outdoor - specific plastic powder for corrosion protection.The entire lamp perfectly combines natural aesthetic appeal with a sleek, tech - forward style. It blends seamlessly into the surrounding park environment without any sense of incongruity.
The "Xiangyanghua" (Sunflower) landscape courtyard lamp has been installed along the other leisure trails in the park. Taking inspiration from sunflowers, this courtyard lamp adopts modern design techniques to transform the lamp pole from a traditionally straight shape into a dynamic, curved form, which is closer to the natural growth state of sunflowers. The lamp head is formed by die-casting. Boasting an attractive, minimalist and stylish appearance, the entire lamp embodies a strong sense of reverence for nature and return to nature, while symbolizing the spirits of positivity and perseverance.
As dusk falls and the sky darkens gradually, the leisure trails in the park are bathed in bright, warm lighting. Streaks of illuminated belts interweave with each other, while the lush woods shimmer faintly under the glow, creating a stunning scene of layered forests dyed in alternating light and shadow.With their unique and elegant designs, the "Baihe" (Lily) and "Xiangyanghua" (Sunflower) landscape courtyard lamps not only fulfill their essential lighting function, but also further enhance the park’s visual appeal. They shine in harmony with the "Shenglian" (Lotus in Full Bloom) landscape lamps in the central square, merging into a magnificent ocean of light.
