Sanxing Lighting Illuminates the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition – Greeting Guests from All Over the World, Jointly Building a Beautiful Home
The 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition was themed "Green Life, Beautiful Home". It aimed to gather new highlights of green development, deepen mutual exchanges, promote win-win cooperation, make green the main theme of life, and turn horticulture into a new carrier of creativity. As a grand cultural event, it strived to create "a new horizon for world horticulture and a new model of ecological civilization" and facilitate international economic and trade exchanges.
The landscape lighting project of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition that our company participated in was designed by the China Academy of Building Research and Beijing Institute of Landscape Architecture and Ancient Building Design Co., Ltd., constructed by Beijing New Era Technology Co., Ltd., and Sanxing Lighting was responsible for the production of landscape lighting fixtures.
The landscape street lamps between Gate 1 and the China Pavilion of the Beijing Expo were designed by the China Academy of Building Research. Named Sihai Qingtian (Upholding the Sky Four Seas Wide), this landscape street lamp product draws inspiration from the "Ruyi" (an auspicious traditional Chinese ornament) - shaped appearance of the China Pavilion. It extracts the aesthetic charm of its lines and is elaborately designed in a Neo-Chinese style. The overall lamp boasts an elegant, unsophisticated, poised and magnificent appearance, symbolizing the vigorous development and prosperity of the city. It also resembles a pair of hands held aloft towards the sky, implying unity and positive progress. This design embodies our sincere wishes that the Beijing Expo, which brings together fine horticultural works from all over the world, will surely present the world with a picturesque scroll of blooming flowers and scenic landscapes, a harmonious movement of technological innovation and green environmental protection, and a spectacular show of the integration of humans and nature.
The China Pavilion serves as a centralized exhibition area for Chinese horticulture. Designed in a semi-circular layout, its appearance resembles both an ancient Chinese palace and a rustic thatched cottage or farmhouse. The architecture draws on traditional dougong (interlocking bracket sets) and mortise-and-tenon joint structures, emulating the wisdom of ancient "tree-dwelling" and "cave-dwelling" lifestyles.
The landscape street lamp – Sihai Qingtian (Upholding the Sky Four Seas Wide) – is designed in accordance with the architectural features of the China Pavilion. It also incorporates traditional Chinese dougong and mortise-and-tenon structural elements, boasts a sleek, elongated linear design, and features natural wood-like tones that blend with nature.
When the pavilion and the lamps are presented together, they look as if they are an integrated whole, achieving a seamless harmony. The combination unfolds into a breathtakingly beautiful picture that captures the imagination.
In addition, our company’s classic landscape street lamp – Tengfei (Soaring High) – has been installed along the central axis road of the Chinese Horticulture Exhibition Area, symbolizing the smooth holding of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, its soaring success across the globe, and its indelible mark in the history of world horticultural expositions.
Other roads in the exhibition area are equipped with the retro courtyard lamps – Dingtian Lidi (Upright and Indomitable) – and retro lawn lamps. Their classic and elegant designs perfectly match the Chinese courtyard architectural style of each exhibition garden, presenting a park landscape with distinct Chinese characteristics.
