New China Lamps on Taiyuan's Yingze Street, Top Street of Shanxi | A Tribute to PRC's 75th Anniversary
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Yingze Street in Taiyuan, hailed as "the First Street of the Three Jin Areas", takes on a stunning new look and makes a spectacular debut! The new China Lamps, smart-manufactured by Samsung Lighting, shine brightly on the street. As the core luminaire for the road lighting upgrade of Yingze Street, they elevate the quality of road lighting, embody profound cultural connotations, drive innovation in urban renewal and development, and pay tribute to the 75th anniversary of the PRC with outstanding craftsmanship and performance!
The name "Yingze" traces its roots to Yingze Gate, the southern main gate of the ancient city of Taiyuan, which has long been a landmark of the city. As a result, "Yingze" has become an extremely frequently used term in Taiyuan, giving its name to Yingze District, Yingze Lake, Yingze Park, Yingze Hotel and many other places. The planned east - west central axis of the city passes through the area outside Yingze Gate, hence the name "Yingze Street".
Among the people of Shanxi, a popular story goes that Yingze Street was built to welcome Chairman Mao Zedong, which reflects the local people's special affection and emotional sustenance for him.
The renovation and upgrading project of Yingze Street adheres to the design philosophy of "Simplifying the Complex, Great Beauty in Simplicity" and the principle of "Returning the Road to the People, Adding Vitality and Carbon Sequestration". Leveraging its geographical advantages, the project also highlights Taiyuan's urban culture and preserves the city’s collective memories.
The light source of our new China Lamps for this project adopts high luminous efficacy LEDs. Compared with the sodium lamps used before the renovation, they are more energy-efficient, easier to maintain and boast a longer service life. We have custom-designed the light distribution of the new China Lamps exclusively for this project: the main light source is installed under the lampshade, which not only meets the road lighting requirements but also complements the landscape lighting. Meanwhile, it effectively reduces glare and creates a healthy and comfortable urban lighting environment. The lampshades are made of imported PMMA with outstanding anti-aging performance, which fully ensures the role of Yingze Street as a welcoming boulevard and a vital urban showcase.
Taiyuan has proudly made the list of the Top 10 Popular Tourist Destinations for the Mid-Autumn Festival Holiday in the just-concluded ranking. This is closely linked to the upgraded Yingze Street, and in particular, Yingze Bridge emerging as a new Internet-famous check-in spot. Our new China Lamps have played a pivotal role in making this street a favorite among the public – a tangible embodiment of how landscape street lamps, beyond meeting the functional demands of road lighting, can boost a city’s cultural outreach and generate remarkable economic benefits and social value.
Yingze Street has always been the heart of Taiyuan, home to numerous iconic landmarks – Taiyuan Railway Station and Yingze Park among them – and the newly installed street lamps here are simply stunning, perfect for taking impressive photos. Such rave reviews from netizens are a testament to the resounding success of this lighting upgrade project. Inspired by customer requirements and public acclaim, our company will continue to R&D and upgrade a diverse range of lighting fixtures that align with the cultural characteristics of different regions.
