Nantong, a famous coastal city in Jiangsu Province with profound Jianghai culture, boasts Wushan National Forest Park as its core urban ecological landmark. To upgrade scenic infrastructure, enrich night landscape aesthetics and welcome the 2019 China Forest Tourism Festival, Sanxing Lighting undertook the full landscape lighting renovation of Wushan scenic area and its adjacent riverside roads, perfectly combining functional illumination with traditional Chinese aesthetic lighting design.
Project Background & Lighting Design Core Demand
Wushan Forest Park, known as Nantong’s natural oxygen bar, covers riverside green belts, Langshan Scenic Spot, Horticultural Expo Garden and ancient Buddhist architectures including Zhiyun Tower. The original lighting system failed to match the park’s ancient architectural style and ecological landscape. The client put forward two core lighting requirements:
Meet basic pedestrian functional lighting for park roads and waterfront walkways;
Integrate lighting fixtures with classical buildings, Buddhist landscapes and Yangtze river views to form layered, elegant night scenes with oriental charm.

Lamp Pole & Structure Appearance
The main lamp pole adopts brown tone consistent with ancient wooden buildings. The top cap and base are sculpted by extracting classic Chinese ancient building outline, presenting simple and elegant antique texture, perfectly coordinated with Langshan temples, pavilions and riverside ecological greenery.
Traditional Auspicious Pattern Decoration
Cloud pattern carvings are embedded on lamp arms and lamp bases, a classic Chinese decorative element symbolizing harmony, luck and vitality, which injects cultural connotation into outdoor lighting facilities.
Dual-Light Source Layered Lighting System
The lamp is equipped with main light source plus auxiliary light source matching amber tea lampshade. The main light provides uniform, soft road functional illumination to guarantee pedestrian safety; the auxiliary light emits warm antique glow through the tea shade, creating layered night atmosphere without dazzling glare.

Langshan Scenic & Horticultural Expo Garden Lighting
Inside Langshan scenic area, where ancient Buddhist constructions and regional garden architectures gather, the courtyard lights stand like miniature ancient buildings stretching along paths. The soft warm light echoes the silhouette of Zhiyun Tower in the distance, eliminating visual conflict between modern lamps and historical relics, and unifying the whole park’s visual tone at night.

After sunset, dim blue sky sets off the warm amber glow of the lamps. The lighting outlines plant contours, highlights road guidance and sets off distant mountain and river scenery, forming a natural scroll-like night landscape with distinct light layers.
