With the continuous deepening of the national "Dual Carbon" goals and policies, as well as the low-carbon economy, solar lighting technology has become increasingly sophisticated. Solar street lights have become the mainstay of carbon-neutral and low-carbon urban lighting, with their application scope expanding day by day.

As a comprehensive solution provider for urban smart lighting, our company has taken the lead in the solar street light sector. We have gradually integrated low-carbon lighting, smart lighting, urban IoT, and industrial design, delivering cutting-edge and cost-effective solar lighting solutions to clients. In this issue, we will share the solar street light project on South Ring Road, Taiqian County, Henan Province.

Taiqian County in Henan Province features a warm temperate continental monsoon climate, boasting distinct four seasons and abundant sunlight. As a key component of Taiqian’s urban road network, South Ring Road is of great significance: it improves the traffic environment, facilitates the integrated development of urban and rural areas, alleviates urban traffic congestion, mitigates urban air pollution, and drives local economic growth.

Spanning a total length of 14 kilometers, the South Ring Road is equipped with 693 sets of our solar street lights. The luminaires adopt our 200W LED glass modules. Calculated based on 10 hours of daily operation, the project can save approximately 500,000 kWh of electricity and 400,000 yuan in electricity costs annually, while reducing carbon emissions by about 44 tons.

On the other hand, conventional grid-connected street lights require extensive civil engineering works, including cable laying, trench excavation, pipe installation, wire threading, and backfilling. Additionally, long-term and uninterrupted line inspection and maintenance are necessary, coupled with cable aging issues, resulting in significant consumption of human, material, and financial resources. Our solar street lights adopt CAT1 wireless communication, eliminating the need for cable laying and offering superior cost-effectiveness compared to grid-connected alternatives.

Calculated on the basis of "initial investment + 5-year electricity costs", the total cost of our solar street lights is only about 50% of that required for grid-connected street lights.

For the South Ring Road Project, with 10 hours of daily operation, it can save approximately 500,000 kWh of electricity and reduce carbon emissions by about 44 tons annually. This has exerted a positive and direct impact on air governance and the improvement of the ecological environment. Meanwhile, solar street lights eliminate the need for trenching and pipe laying, and avoid secondary damage caused by maintenance work, thereby significantly minimizing the destruction to the natural environment.
