In this issue, we share the application outcomes of our company’s integrated road poles in the lighting upgrade project of Jinmen Road — a well-established commercial street in Suzhou’s old town.
Jinmen Road in Suzhou is located in the Shimen Commercial Zone, a traditional business district with profound and time-honored cultural heritage. However, due to historical legacy issues, the road has been plagued by problems such as traffic congestion, mixed pedestrian and vehicle flow, poor lighting performance, cluttered street poles and a disorganized environment. These issues are particularly acute given that the road runs alongside a diverse mix of urban spaces including shops, shopping malls, office buildings, residential areas and public facilities. During holidays or rush hours, it has even become one of the most congested roads in Suzhou, imposing travel burdens and safety risks on pedestrians along the route.
How to address these problems? As an integrated solution provider for urban smart lighting, our company has closely collaborated with the relevant competent authorities, thoroughly explored and grasped the core objectives of the road renewal project, analyzed existing issues, kept an eye on future development trends, and delivered a constructive and sustainable solution.
This lighting upgrade project adopted our company’s integrated road poles, which integrate multiple municipal facilities such as traffic signal lights, surveillance cameras and road signs with street lamps. This approach has effectively resolved the problem of cluttered and haphazardly scattered street poles, saved urban space, beautified the road environment, eliminated visual obstructions for pedestrians, reduced potential traffic safety hazards, and enhanced the travel experience of residents.
In terms of road lighting, high-efficiency LED glass modules developed by our company were adopted for the light source. These modules consist of ultra-white tempered glass, PC lenses, light source boards, safety clips, heat sinks, waterproof connectors, breathers and wires. They deliver excellent lighting performance and a long service life, are resistant to dust accumulation and feature higher light transmittance. Compared with traditional sodium lamps, they are more energy-efficient, have a longer service life and a lower failure rate, thus offering higher cost-effectiveness and contributing to energy conservation and consumption reduction.
In terms of appearance and styling, the lamps adopt a modern and minimalist design approach, which is more aligned with contemporary urban development and aesthetic trends. The design style complements Jinmen Road’s modern shopping malls and office premises perfectly, reflecting the new pattern of Suzhou’s modern urban development and boosting the city’s cultural and tourism development.
