Green & Efficient: Nantong North Street’s Lighting & Slow Traffic System Upgrade
Nantong, located at the core of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle, is among China’s most open cities with a high level of economic development, boasting significant strategic value in driving economic growth. As one of Nantong’s central business districts, North Street also serves as a traditional transportation artery of the city, connecting high-speed railways and metro lines. It integrates a diverse range of urban functions including commerce, entertainment, culture, education and residential living, making it an ideal destination for living, working and leisure.
As a showcase of the city, the road lighting and green corridor supplementary lighting of North Street must not only meet conventional illumination needs, but also align with the city’s cultural and tourism development. The goal is to build a green, low-carbon and healthy livable urban light environment, integrate urban traffic with the slow-moving transportation system, and comprehensively upgrade the quality of urban lighting in a three-dimensional manner.
Our company, together with relevant partners, has gained a profound understanding of the core objectives of the comprehensive road lighting renovation and upgrade project. To address the existing issues of insufficient road illumination and lackluster landscape effects, we have adopted our patented ultra-large luminous surface double-reflective grid glass module and independently developed landscape lighting fixtures. By tapping into the city’s cultural heritage and integrating modern minimalist aesthetic art, we are committed to creating a green and healthy urban light environment, and contributing to the development of the city’s cultural and tourism sector.
For the lighting upgrade of North Street, our company’s landscape street lamp "Qicheng" has been selected. Its modern and minimalist design perfectly complements the high-end positioning of North Street, capturing the vibrant new vibe of the city’s future development.
The light source adopts the ultra-large luminous surface double-reflective grid glass module (National Invention Patent No. ZL2019107147226). This module is resistant to dust accumulation and features high light transmittance. Equipped with a breather to maintain internal and external pressure balance, it ensures extended service life of the lamp and easy maintenance. By leveraging the double-reflective reflector to achieve multiple specular and diffuse reflections of the emitted light, the module modifies the original Lambertian light distribution curve of the LED. With a reflectivity rate of over 95%, the double-reflective light guide outperforms PC lenses by a wide margin, breaking through the bottleneck of light efficiency improvement and delivering remarkable energy-saving results. Moreover, the reflective technology prevents direct light from dazzling the eyes, creating a comfortable and healthy urban lighting environment.
For the supplementary lighting of the North Street Green Corridor, our company’s new European-style courtyard lamp "Milano" has been adopted. It blends European classical aesthetics with modern minimalist design elements, exuding both aristocratic elegance and contemporary flair, and perfectly complements the surrounding modern architecture as well as the green corridor.
Elegant and sleek in appearance, the lamp features an acanthus-patterned arm design. The acanthus motif, a symbol of wisdom and art that was widely incorporated into architectural and artistic designs in ancient Rome, endows the lamp with profound cultural heritage and vibrant vitality, adding an exotic touch to North Street and the city’s cultural tourism landscape.
For the light source, high-efficiency LEDs are adopted, which deliver far greater energy efficiency than traditional sodium lamps. The lampshade is made of a light-diffusing plate that softens the light, reduces glare, and ensures a comfortable and healthy lighting experience.
The development of North Street adheres to the orientation of building a space ideal for living, working and leisure, and implements a people-oriented green corridor concept. On the basis of satisfying functional lighting needs, the project integrates landscape value and cultural connotations, elevating people’s spiritual enjoyment through visual enhancement. It creates a high-quality lighting system that is both healthy and aesthetically pleasing, thus improving the living environment, making low-carbon travel more pleasant, and offering a trendy visual experience. The initiative advocates green commuting and contributes to the construction of North Street’s slow-moving transportation system.
Going forward, our company will continue to drive the innovation and upgrading of product R&D and design, launch lighting products tailored to diverse needs, and further advance smart product solutions and low-carbon energy-saving lighting technologies. We are committed to creating a healthy and smart urban light environment, enhancing user experience, and illuminating a better China with the power of technology.
