Diehu Park Landscape Lighting Project in Qidong: A Coastal City New Landmark Project Overview

Diehu Park sits in the central area of Qidong New Town, Nantong, Jiangsu Province. Shaped like a spreading butterfly, it is the largest ecological park in Nantong region after more than three years of construction.

As a core urban public space, the park undertakes citizens’ daily leisure, exercise, social communication and cultural events. Sanxing Lighting was entrusted to deliver the full landscape lighting design and installation service, matching the park’s ecological temperament, urban culture and adjacent cultural & sports center architecture. We customized six series of modern courtyard lights to build a layered, artistic night lighting environment.

Six Custom Landscape Light Series Applied

We divided the fixtures into two creative lines: eco-bionic series and futuristic modern series, perfectly integrated into different zones of Diehu Park.

1. Eco-Bionic Themed Lights (Blend with Green Plants & Natural Scenery)

1. Commercial Outdoor Lighting (Ginkgo Series)

   Bionic ginkgo leaf outline, minimalist smooth lamp body, soft light output. It echoes the park’s various trees and flowers, bringing natural vitality to woodland walkways and green lawn zones.

2. Led Yard Lights (Sunflower Series)

   Sunflower-shaped lamp head with diffused warm light, specially arranged along flower beds and waterfront trails. The gentle lighting complements blooming plants and creates a cozy leisure atmosphere for visitors.

3. Butterfly Landscape Lights (Diewu Series)

   The star fixture of the whole project. Blue luminous lines outline vivid butterfly silhouettes. When night falls, countless glowing butterfly lights float across the park, creating a dreamy, fantastic night scene and becoming the most popular photo spot in the park.

2. Modern Futuristic Lights (Match New Town Cultural & Sports Center)

1. Outdoor Lights (Top-tier Series)

   Simple streamlined modern structure, high uniformity light distribution. Installed at square entrances and main pedestrian axes, providing stable functional lighting for large crowd activities.

2. Led Park Light (Angel’s Eye Series)

   Circular hollow luminous design with strong futuristic texture. Paired with the modern facade of the cultural and sports center, it highlights the vigorous development momentum of Qidong New Town.

3. Galaxy Series Landscape Lights

   Starry dot light source layout, soft scattered light effect. Decorated along lake shore viewing platforms, forming a galaxy-like lighting belt above the water surface.

Lighting Design Concept & Effect

The core design logic balances practical illumination and landscape aesthetics. All lights do not only fulfill basic safety lighting for paths, lawns and waterfronts, but also act as core landscape decorations of the night view.

• Ecological zone: Adopt bionic Commercial Outdoor Lighting & Led Yard Lights to maintain harmonious integration with vegetation without destroying natural landscape texture.

• Central square & cultural building zone: Deploy modern Outdoor Lights and Led Park Light to highlight urban modern style.

• Lake viewing area: Butterfly Landscape Lights and Galaxy lights create immersive dreamy waterfront night views.

After full completion, the whole park presents layered night lighting. Soft ambient light wraps green plants, water surfaces and architectures, greatly upgrading the living environment of local residents, beautifying the coastal city nightscape, and injecting new vitality into the construction of Qidong New Town.
